Terry O'Quinn PRESS CONFERENCE OF LOST AND JORGE GARCIA

We met in Rome with Terry O 'Quinn and Jorge Garcia, Hurley and Locke, respectively, of the series Lost, told us a little' secrets series .

How are things on the set of Lost? Often you do not have the exact feeling of what the writers improvise and what they have already decided a long time.

Terry O'Quinn- During the first two seasons we had the feeling that the script was done then and there, which is fairly common in the States. Then in the third season and especially with the agreement that the creators of Lost have signed with ABC, which involves the construction of other 48 episodes, we realized that everything followed a precise plan.

The relationship with the father is topical in the existence of the character of Locke. What do you think?

Terry O'Quinn - is a characteristic that belongs to all the characters of Lost, not only in Locke. There is in Jack, Kate and Hurley also. It is the leitmotif of the series. As for Locke, I think this story is concludes with the third series. I do not think that it will be a problem for him.

why Locke wants to stay on the island that the Losties? What drives him to want to remain apart from the fact they could not walk?

Terry O'Quinn- Locke does not want to completely change the balance that we are on the island and believes that all are important for that. It also does not want to leave until they have obtained the answers.

What is the relationship with your characters? John Locke believes in fate. He is a man of faith. Hurley is haunted by bad luck.

Terry O'Quinn- I really like my character, his curiosity, his need to have answers to the mysteries of the island. For me, my favorite part is the first one to arrive on the island, however, to believe in destiny. I think the people we meet are there for a reason. Especially since I play in this series.

Jorge Garcia - I do not believe in bad luck as Hurley. Life is made up of obstacles and commitment that we use to overcome them. It 's all a matter of willpower.

Collaborate in some way with the writers to draw the characters?

Jorge Garcia - I never speak of their character. Also because they are in Los Angeles and we are in Hawaii. We get the script and turn. The way I act and express emotions influence the character. In fact, why the writers have made the most dramatic character, giving him a most painful past.

As players what is the biggest difficulty that you find in the characters?

Terry O'Quinn - Running in the Jungle (ride ndr). Every time I get the script and I read Locke runs quickly in the jungle is a tragedy. Okay once, but then I can no longer be sure to run fast.

How do you get good characters in the script if there comes a week before?

Jorge Garcia - We made a lifestyle choice and as actors and we have to accept it.

Terry O'Quinn - Maybe you better not come quickly so the acting is spontaneous, without thinking about it on too. As with all things is recited without the security of their future.

In the U.S. there was a decrease of plays. I think the audience is gone for the lack of response of the series?

Terry O'Quinn - is possible. But it is a problem in many television productions from us. The writers must have regard to the commercial television networks, who want as many episodes as possible selo show has great success. It is the executive's. So the times and also expand the answers. The creators of Lost have wanted to risk it and knew they could fail. But sicuramenteil public will have all the answers at the end. Do not worry.

Jorge Garcia - Consider the fact that the public is very fond of Lost thus more critical.

Which drive out off the island?

Terry O'Quinn - These questions do not (laughs Ed.) But thinking it would send off Jack or Sawyer. It would make it "available" Kate.

How did you react when you have indicated that the series would have lasted three more seasons?

Terry O'Quinn - I'm happy. The public will have the answers. It is our duty. Eventually I'll stay out of work but Lost has opened up many job opportunities.

Jorge Garcia - Also I are happy, I think it was necessary to determine the story ending.

you of your favorite series, which followed?

Terry O'Quinn - really do not watch much television. I like sports, but if I have to choose I would say Deadwood (great Terry ed.) I really liked it.

Jorge Garcia - But I watch many series. Among my favorite there ono "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip", but I do not know if it's ever been broadcast in Italy. Then "Battlestar Galactica" and "The Simpsons".

If you had the opportunity to choose the characters of Lost, who you wanted to play?

Jorge Garcia - John Locke and Benjamin Linus.

Terry O'Quinn - Surely Hurley or Sawyer. They have the best lines.

Have you ever seen an Italian fiction?

Terry O'Quinn - Unfortunately, the United States do not submit fiction Italian (and less evil ed.) There is the problem of language. But I know that Jack Bender held a workshop with young Italian writers. I would like this to do something to bring awareness of the production Italian television.

Jorge Garcia - products I have not seen Italian TV, but I piacebbe much. I love the series and buy foreign DVD that I can see at home. I do it often.
